Why Ufton Court?

We saw a couple of barn venues but what really made Ufton stand out, despite being absolutely stunning, was that it didn’t feel like a wedding factory. From our first visit we could tell how passionate the team were, and excited about getting to know us and hearing our plans for our wedding day. We loved everything about the venue but it makes a real difference knowing you have someone who cares about bringing your vision to life.

Wedding Style

We were going for boho/rustic/barn vibes with lots of fairy lights! We got most of our décor from Etsy.

The Ceremony

We chose to have our ceremony in the barn because it perfectly fit the intimate and boho style that we wanted. We also loved that you have the option to move around to the other parts of the venue throughout the day, but felt like the barn was a real show stopper.

The Dress

I knew I wanted my dress to match the boho style of the day, and I loved that it wasn’t white! I fell in love when I tried it on, and knew I’d be comfortable all day which was a bonus!

The Flowers

We told our florist that we wanted lots of greenery with white flowers and we let her have artistic freedom over this. On the day it was so much more beautiful than we had ever imagined, and we repurposed the flowers from the ceremony, to the wedding breakfast and evening reception, which also helped us stick within our budget.

Food and Drink

A lot of our family and friends are vegan & vegetarian so we definitely wanted a menu that would cater to and make everyone happy. When we were looking for a caterer, we were drawn to menu’s that had options for sharing platters and family styled dining, as we wanted the wedding breakfast to feel relaxed. We also liked the flexibility to be able to provide our own alcohol up until the open bar in the evening. On the day, everyone was coming up to us to say how amazing Total Hospitality were and we couldn’t agree more.

The Cake

We had a naked style 3 tier cake, decorated with green and white flowers. 1 tier was vegan and the other 2 were chocolate on the inside, kindly supplied by a family friend.

The Entertainment

We knew we wanted live music and we were lucky enough to have our friends, Juliette The Band, play for us on the night and DJ between sets. They were incredible and got everyone up on the dance floor. We asked our guests to each give us a song request when they RSVP’d, and the band mixed these in with their sets. They also hosted a game of Mr & Mrs at the start of the evening which set the tone for a fun & lively night.

The Photographer

Our photographer was the amazing PhoebeJanePhoto. She is not local to the area, but her style matched exactly what we wanted, and she was brilliant at communicating with us right up until the day. After our ceremony, we had a rain shower which lasted about 10 minutes, resulting in our favourite photo of us running towards the house under an umbrella. The main house makes for the perfect backdrop for any photo.

Advice to future couples

Our advice would be to enjoy every moment and ask all the questions!
Laura was our organiser and just knowing that she was always on hand to answer any question we had, and bounce ideas off what had worked at other weddings, was so reassuring and felt like we had a friend helping us ensure the day ran smoothly. Our friends and family were shocked at how relaxed we had been throughout the wedding planning process, and I put this down to how great Laura and the team were, so ask any questions you have so that you can get the answer and relax!
